Audio Recording (for reading and speaking improvements)
🎙️ Speak Your Story: A Voice + AI Language Lab
Project-Based Learning for EFL Learners and Teachers
🔍 Project Overview
This two-week project helps English language learners use their own voice, alongside AI tools, to improve speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Learners write a story, record themselves reading it aloud, get feedback through AI transcription, and polish their pronunciation—all while creating a final digital product to share.
🧠 Guiding Question
How can I use my voice and technology to tell a clear, engaging story in English?
📅 Weekly Breakdown
Week 1: Tell It, Hear It, Improve It
Goal: Draft a story, practice speaking, and evaluate your pronunciation with tech tools.
-
Day 1: Write a short personal story (1–2 minutes max when spoken).
-
Day 2: Revise the story with a peer or teacher. Listen to the story using a text-to-speech (TTS) tool.
-
Day 3: Record yourself reading the story aloud. Use voice-to-text (VTT) software to transcribe it.
-
Day 4: Compare your transcription to the original story. Notice where the tech misunderstood you.
-
Day 5: Practice shadowing the TTS voice. Work on clarity, rhythm, and intonation.
Week 2: Perfect It, Publish It
Goal: Refine your spoken story and turn it into a digital artifact.
-
Day 6: Re-record your story with improved fluency. Optional: add background music or sound effects.
-
Day 7: Get peer or teacher feedback on your second recording.
-
Day 8: Finalize your audio and transcript. Design a simple storybook, slideshow, or mini podcast.
-
Day 9: Share your story in a class listening session or post it online.
-
Day 10: Reflect on your growth in pronunciation, confidence, and storytelling.
