🎯 Lesson Objectives

  • Learn and use vocabulary related to hobbies and objects 🎸🎨⚽

  • Practice speaking clearly to describe personal items 🗣️

  • Build confidence in public speaking and storytelling 🌟

📋 Materials Needed

  • Students bring 1 object related to their hobby (photo or real item) 📷🧩

  • Whiteboard or digital board 🖥️

  • Vocabulary handout (optional) 📝

  • Timer or clock ⏰

🛠️ Lesson Procedure

1. Warm-up (10 minutes) 🔥

  • Teacher introduces the topic: hobbies and objects related to hobbies (e.g., guitar 🎸, paintbrush 🎨, soccer ball ⚽).

  • Quick brainstorming: Write “hobby” on board, elicit hobbies from students and list them 📝.

  • Introduce/review key vocabulary: hobby, object, tool, interesting, favorite, use, enjoy 🗣️.

2. Pre-task Vocabulary & Sentence Structure (15 minutes) 🗣️

  • Teach and practice useful phrases for describing objects:

    • “This is my [object].” 👋

    • “I use it for [hobby].” ⚽🎸

    • “I like it because...” ❤️

    • “It is [size/color/shape/material].” 🎨📏

    • “It helps me to [do something].” 💪

  • Practice pronunciation and stress on important words 🔊.

3. Preparation Time (10 minutes) 📝

  • Students prepare a short 1-2 minute description of their hobby object using the target phrases 🗣️.

  • Teacher helps with vocabulary or sentence structure 🧑‍🏫.

4. Show & Tell Presentations (20–30 minutes) 🎤

  • Each student presents their object to the class 🧩.

  • Classmates ask one or two simple questions ❓❓, e.g., “How often do you use it?” “Why do you like it?” 😊

  • Teacher models polite listening and question asking 🙏👂.

5. Listening Activity (10 minutes) 👂

  • Teacher asks comprehension questions about objects, e.g., “Who has a soccer ball?” ⚽ “Who uses a camera?” 📷

  • Optional: Students match objects to owners based on short descriptions 🔄.
