  • Practice persuasive and descriptive language

  • Learn vocabulary related to the environment and sustainability

  • Collaborate using English in a meaningful, real-world context

  • Use visual and oral communication to convey a message

🧠 Target Language

  • Vocabulary: pollution, climate change, renewable energy, recycling, composting, carbon footprint, sustainability, endangered species, etc.

  • Structures:

    • “We should…” / “Let’s…” / “It’s important to…”

    • Cause-effect: “If we don’t recycle…” / “When people reduce waste…”

    • Persuasive phrases: “Join us to make a change!” / “You can help by…”

🗓️ Timeline (3–5 class periods)

You can adjust based on your class schedule and level.

ðŸŠī Step-by-Step Breakdown

ðŸŸĒ Day 1: Introduction & Issue Brainstorm

  • Warm-Up: “What’s wrong with the environment today?” group brainstorm

  • Mini-lesson: Environmental vocabulary & example campaigns (videos/posters)

  • Group Work: Students form small groups (3–4) and choose one issue (e.g., plastic pollution, water conservation, food waste, etc.)

ðŸŸĒ Day 2: Slogan + Poster Creation

  • Mini-lesson: Persuasive slogans (short, powerful, emotional, positive)

  • Activity: Each group creates:

    • A slogan

    • A campaign poster (digital or hand-drawn)

  • Language Focus: Check spelling, grammar, and clarity with peer editing

ðŸŸĒ Day 3: Short Presentation Prep

  • Mini-lesson: How to present: body language, opening phrases, supporting your claim

  • Activity: Students prepare a 2–3 minute presentation:

    • Introduce the issue

    • Share slogan and poster

    • Suggest eco-friendly actions

  • Optional: Record or practice with peer feedback

ðŸŸĒ Day 4: Presentations & Feedback

  • Groups present to class

  • Peers and teacher give feedback (using a simple checklist: clear message, good English, eye contact, creativity)

ðŸ“Ķ Deliverables

  1. Slogan

  2. Environmental Poster

  3. 2–3 Minute Group Presentation

📚 Extensions / Options

  • Create a class “Eco Wall” with all the posters

  • Vote on most effective campaign

  • Submit projects to a local community bulletin or social media

  • Do it as a bilingual project (EFL + native language)

ðŸ§Đ Adaptation for Levels

  • Beginner: Use templates and sentence starters (“We can help the Earth by…”)

  • Intermediate: Encourage more details in presentation and explanation of solutions

  • Advanced: Require research citations, more technical vocabulary, and audience targeting (e.g., kids, tourists, local government)
