๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–ฅ️ Media Exhibition: A Project-Based Learning Experience

✨ Overview

In this project, students will create an electronic poster around a theme of their choice using a free online design tool. They'll showcase their digital creations in a classroom gallery walk, where peers give feedback both face-to-face and digitally. The project strengthens digital literacy, visual communication, and peer engagement—all in English!

By the end of this project, students will be able to:

  • ๐Ÿ–ผ️ Use free tools to design an eye-catching digital poster

  • ๐Ÿ’ฌ Practice giving and receiving constructive peer feedback

  • ๐ŸŒ Improve their confidence in multimodal communication


๐Ÿ› ️ Recommended Free Tools for Making Digital Posters

Students can use any of the following free tools:

Encourage students to experiment with different tools and choose what works best for them.


๐Ÿ—“️ Suggested Weekly Timeline (Flexible)

๐Ÿ” Lesson 1: Introduction & Brainstorming

  • Introduce the project with real or sample posters

  • Ask: “What themes matter to you?” (e.g., mental health, food, music, fashion, environment)

  • Students select a topic and start collecting ideas/images/media

  • Homework: Choose your topic and gather at least 3 resources (images, short texts, etc.)


๐Ÿงช Lesson 2: Planning & Tool Practice

  • Teach how to use 1–2 poster tools (e.g., Canva walkthrough)

  • Students sketch a rough layout:

    • ๐ŸŽฏ Title

    • ๐Ÿ–ผ️ Key image(s)

    • ✏️ Text (message, facts, captions)

    • ๐ŸŽฅ Optional media (QR code to a video, audio, etc.)

  • Homework: Start your first draft poster


๐Ÿ› ️ Lesson 3: Peer Review & Revision

  • Students share their draft with a classmate

  • Use 2 Stars + 1 Wish feedback method:
    ⭐ Something I like
    ⭐ Another thing I like
    ๐ŸŒฑ One idea to improve

  • Homework: Revise your poster based on the feedback


๐Ÿ–ผ️ Lesson 4: Media Exhibition (Gallery Walk!)

  • Set up posters around the room on laptops or tablets

  • Students rotate and view at least 5 classmates’ posters

  • They leave:
    ๐Ÿงพ Digital Feedback (via Padlet, Google Form, class slide deck comments)
    ๐Ÿ’ฌ Face-to-Face Comments using prompts like:

    • “What inspired this topic?”

    • “Why did you choose that image?”

    • “What message do you want viewers to remember?”


๐ŸŒˆ Lesson 5: Reflection & Wrap-Up

  • Reflect as a group:

    • “What did you learn?”

    • “What was challenging?”

    • “Whose poster stood out to you and why?”

  • Students write a short reflection (5–10 minutes):

  • Optional: Create a digital class gallery to share on your class website or with families!

You can give feedback using the following categories:

  • Content Quality: Clear theme, well-developed ideas

  • Visual Appeal: Attractive layout, images used effectively

  • Language Use: Grammar, vocabulary, clarity in English

  • Engagement: Active in gallery walk and peer feedback

  • Reflection: Honest, thoughtful, and language-aware

You can score each as Excellent / Good / Needs Work—or just use comments!

  • Access to free design tools (Canva, Adobe Express, etc.)

  • Feedback forms (digital or printed)

  • Gallery setup (tables, signs, or a class Padlet/Drive folder)
